Bernay - Neufchatel-en-Bray

 Sunday 10 August

Not a lot to show for today really - too hot to do too much after our journey north from Montoire-sur-Loir to Bernay.  Our cool pitch a Montoire ....

.... to our coffee stop in a small village en route

... but what's interesting about this picture is that when zoomed in ..... you may be able to spot our little green stool outside our van door.  This is very useful to people with short legs and even more useful to people who are operating with only one arm ....

.... but when we reached our destination later in the day - at Bernay - we realised that our little green stool must still be in that park!! Oh well, maybe someone else with little legs will take care of it! And so we came to another Camping-Car Park, at Bernay.  It has only recently opened, but probably they shouldn't have done it so soon because there was no electricity and water only to a couple of the taps.  We had chosen our pitch by one of the taps that worked!  We had parked very spaced from the van already beyond us, but a French couple decided, despite all this space and trees for shade available, they drove in between us and that far one!  We can only suppose they wanted to use the shade of our van - they couldn't even open their awning fully.  Oh well, takes all sorts - by the way they had a black cat on a lead between us and them too!  All was well when the van to right of us arrived - a very friendly couple from Swindon - so we had plenty to chat about, especially as this was their first night abroad ever in their van.

Monday 11 August

Another early morning stroll - to the sports ground at Bernay to find a geo, to be able to put a smiley face on our geo map!
Then the drive to our last night's stop at our much-used Camping Sainte Claire at Neufchatel-en-Bray.
There are only 14 spaces here and over the years of using this, we've never found it full until after we were in.  Today we were No.14 at only 2.30pm.  The 'complet' sign went up!

Again waiting till the cooler evening, a short stroll on the Avenue Verte (disused railway line).

Tried our best to get a decent picture of the sun going down - didn't succeed.  The sky was light and the sun was bright red!

Local houses

And so this trip is coming to an end with our ferry tomorrow afternoon.  Thank you
